THE SALVATION ARMY RESPONDS TO BOZEMAN EXPLOSION

<p>Bozeman, MT - The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) responded immediately to the explosion that struck downtown Bozeman yesterday. The Salvation Army has provided 900 meals, snacks, hydration, and emotional and spiritual care to first responders and emergency workers from The Salvation Army's Corps building, 32 South Rouse, which is 5 buildings away from the explosion. <br /><br />"When I first heard the explosion, I thought a plane had hit the building," said Major Hendrik Aalders, The Salvation Army Bozeman Corps officer. <br />Additionally, due to the extremely cold temperatures, The Salvation Army has distributed more than 60 pairs of socks and 30 hand warmers to first responders. <br /><br />"The Salvation Army will continue to respond as long as we are needed," says Major Aalders. "The Bozeman community is a very generous and caring community especially as everyone rallies together during this catastrophe." <br /><br />The Salvation Army has 20 volunteers preparing, serving and/or delivering meals.</p>
